I was so disappointed after spending over $200 bucks for this not to work. I'm not sure it will work on every brand, but so far so good.

I only tested this on this exact Sony brand, the noise canceling wireless bluetooth headphones. This worked not only on one computer but two and on both operating systems: Mavericks and Yosmite. You then should see your headphones in the bluetooth devices and the pair button. When you start seeing the loading symbol take the headphones, push the power button and hold for exactly 7 seconds. Steps: Open your bluetooth settings hold alt/option down and press bluetooth symbol at the top of the menu screen next to power meter or go to settings> Bluetooth.

i would return the mac since it's clearly the problem but it's my work computer. Why do I feel like it's still in the stone age?Įdit: now my mac won't even fucking pair with the headphones. Why? BlueTooth is over 20 YEARS OLD technology. I'm thinking of returning the headphones if they will never connect properly. When they work they're awesome but they only work 50% of the time. I'm really bummed out about this - I bought these expensive (for me) headphones to help with concentration at work, and to use them I have to restart my computer after I already have all my programs and files open, which is so disruptive, and then once I do use them the sound cuts in and out which is distracting. Or it will cut out for 10 seconds straight, usually while the MacBook is processing something (like opening a new window). I sit with my laptop in my lap, and the music is cutting in and out like it is constantly dropping the signal for a split second over and over. The signal cuts in and out all the time.I can't restart because I have processes running in the background and can't really kill them right now. So if I want to listen to music again, I have to open my terminal, delete a system file, close ALL my programs, and restart. I just came back to my computer and turned them back on, and now it won't connect. I was using my headphones, but I went on a break so I turned them off and the Mac disconnected from them at that point. The headphones show in the bluetooth menu, but clicking "connect" does nothing. Sometimes it connects like normal within 1 second of turning on headphones, but about half the time it won't, no matter how long I wait.

I have to sudo -s and command line "rm " from /Library/Preferences and restart the computer, then put the headphones into pairing mode again and re-pair them with the laptop.

I turn the headphones on and the computer does not connect to them. Often the computer just won't connect to the headphones.I bought these headphones and am trying to use bluetooth on my 2.5 yr old MacBook Pro running the newest OS with all updates installed as they come.
